Chris Ballantyne: BSc. (Hons.) Environmental Management and Technology, MSc. Transportation Planning and Management
Chris is a Director and Principal at Invise. With over 20 years’ experience in local and central government and large scale consultancy infrastructure planning and delivery. Chris is an experienced transport and infrastructure planner and adviser. He has held senior management and governance roles on projects, programmes and within a large professional services consultancy. Chris specialises in strategic planning and has a focus on the development and integration of complex portfolios, programmes, projects and their associated business case development. Chris achieves success through providing strong, open leadership coupled with technical skills and a willingness to develop, listen to, and use new ideas. He is well versed in Treasury and Waka Kotahi/NZ Transport Agency Business Cases, is a certified Better Business Case practitioner, and advocates an outcome-based approach based on risk management and continual assessment against project objectives.
Elliot Clayton: BA (Hons.), Business Economics
Elliot is a Director and Principal at Invise with significant experience across local and central government, both within New Zealand and internationally. Elliot is an infrastructure and capital projects specialist with a focus on managing the development and delivery of planning, business cases, monitoring, assurance and investment appraisal services. With a natural aptitude to solve complex problems and adapt to stakeholder requirements, Elliot builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders alike. He has spent several years developing performance management frameworks and related systems to support investment decisions, often including significant engagement and interviews with senior leaders across the infrastructure sector. Elliot focusses on bringing a creative, analytical and outcome-oriented approach to problems enabling him to generate solutions that optimise benefits and wider outcomes with respect to costs. Elliot’s varied international experience demonstrates adaptability to cultures, industries and work practices across projects in both the public and private sector.
Nathan Harper: BE (Hons.) (Civil), ME (Civil)
Nathan is a Director and Principal at Invise, Nathan has over 20 years’ experience justifying multi-modal public investment in transport infrastructure and place making. Nathan is a trained Investment Logic Mapping facilitator with a critical eye for investment logic, and an APMG registered practitioner of Business Cases for Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency and Treasury frameworks.Clients appreciate his clear communication, technical expertise and ability to simply explain complex transport problems, and value Nathan’s ability to deliver fundable business cases for significant and challenging schemes. Nathan is a Member of Engineering NZ, on the National Committee of the Transportation Group, and the current Chairman of the NZ Modelling User Group.
Pravin Dayaram: M Engineering (Transportation), B Engineering (Civil)
Pravin is a Principal and Associate at Invise. He has gained substantial expertise in delivering results by carefully understanding his clients' needs, staying within practical and economic limits, and considering input and requirements from all relevant stakeholders. Pravin has over 35 years’ experience with several private companies and two territorial local authorities. Pravin specialises in transportation planning and engineering (policy/strategy) and was a founding director of a specialist transportation and traffic engineering professional services consultancy. In this role he managed the business including financial performance, business development, staff development and quality assurance for the company.
Shaun Lion-Cachet: BSc Engineering (Civil), Post Graduate Diploma (Engineering), CMEngNZ, CPEng, IntPE, Member EngNZ
Shaun is a Principal and Associate at Invise, with over 30 years’ experience in leadership, transport engineering, asset management, project management, and staff management across both local government and professional services. His technical skill set brings together transport planning, traffic engineering, and transport design, and he is particularly interested in project drivers which embrace positive community outcomes. Most recently Shaun led roading asset management service delivery to Waikato councils as well as the Waikato Regional Transport Model programme. He is known to encourage collaboration across organisations and boundaries with a high level of professionalism and expertise. Specific technical expertise includes transport planning, traffic engineering, programme management, Business Case development and delivery, transport asset management, communication and engagement, and transport network option development and assessment.
Miguel Valero: Bachelor of Commerce Finance and Accounting Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) Finance, CFA Level 1
Miguel is a Senior Consultant and Associate at Invise. Miguel has over 10 years of multi-sector experience with a strong background in M&A deals (buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence), financial modeling, valuation, and general business advisory; servicing corporate, private equity, and public sector clients. Miguel began his career as a graduate at Deloitte in 2016, working in the Corporate Finance team in Auckland, and was promoted to Manager in November 2020. Miguel’s experience includes a 12-month secondment in Tokyo (October 2019 to October 2020), working in the M&A Transaction Services team at Deloitte Tohmatsu Financial Advisory LLC (DTFA), with a particular focus on cross-border M&A deals involving Japanese and overseas based companies, providing financial due diligence and detailed analysis and reporting on key business drivers and deal considerations. Miguel is known for being easy to work with, efficient and accurate, and for his positive and collaborative attitude.
Tim Holland: Master of Strategic Studies (ANU), and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) (VUW)
Tim joined Invise as a Senior Consultant after working alongside the team on the client side for several large investment monitoring and business case projects. He is a senior policy advisor with significant central government budget and policy experience. Tim has worked across public investment, central government budget processes, economic policy and infrastructure investment. He has advanced and well-tested report drafting skills, and familiarity covering significant budget process and infrastructure investment programs. Tim also provides project and program coordination support and has experience assessing and shaping business cases and budget bids. Tim is able to work across a broad range of policy and Government requirements, adding strategic value to policy advice. Tim’s skillsets complement technical advisory from transport planners, commercial analysts, engineers and business case experts, helping to translate this input and navigate complexity for government clients. He has a highly collaborative working style and is most comfortable working in multidisciplinary and cross-government work groups.
Anna Eilers: CG (Affiliated), Grad Dip GIS, Postgrad Cert Human Potential for the Digital Economy, AIPMM Agile Certified Product Manager and Product Owner, Prince2, ITIL Foundation
Anna is a senior consultant and associate at Invise. Anna brings a wealth of experience in digital project and programme management having worked across a wide range of sectors over the last 22 years. She has led teams to provide successful outcomes while continually growing people’s capabilities and team culture.
